Managing Your Profile

Q. What is a profile?
A.
A profile consists of a domain name, username and password.

Q. How do I create a profile?
A.
When you register or transfer a domain, you will set up a profile.Your username should not be more than 10 characters and MUST be lower case. NOTE: profiles are case sensitive and can NOT contain spaces.

Q. What characters are allowed?
A.
The only allowed characters for username and passwords are all alphanumerics
(A-Z, a-z, 0-9) and symbols []()!@$^,.~|=-+_{}#

Q. Can I change my profile username and password?

A.
Yes, you can change both your username and password under the "Manage Profile" >> "Create a NEW profile". If you have more then one domain in your profile be sure to check the box "move all domains associated with this profile"

Q. Why do I need a profile anyway?
A.
Your profile provides one place to access all of your services within your Domain Manager. Once you've entered your login information, you can do things such as:

Forgot your password?.. use the "forgot password" button at the Manage Domain log in screen. Your password will be sent to the administrative contact on file.

Q. I already have a web host account but my username and passwords are not working, why?
A.
WSM Domains profiles; username and passwords, are different than your web hosting account.

Q. I have an existing account but I keep getting an authentication error,why?
A.
Make sure you have a completed domain within the WSM Domains system, transfers can take up to 5 days. Username and passwords are CaSe SEnsitive!

Q. Can I have more than one profile?
A.
Yes, profiles are associated by domain names.

      Profile = domainname + username + password
Q. Can I have more than one domain under my profile?
A.
Yes, when you register or transfer another domain, use "EXISTING", plus a previously registered domain, once registered click on "My Domains" to manage.

Q. Can I change my profile?
A.
Yes, you can change your username, and password in the Manage Profile section - or -create a new username, and password for a single domain.

Q. Can I move domains into another profile?
A.
Yes follow these steps to merge your domain into another profile
  1. In the "username" box type in the username of the domain profile you are changing to. ( Example: myotherdomain.com = domain you are moving to)
  2. In the "password" box type in the password of the domain profile you are changing to.
  3. Confirm password
  4. Check the box "Move to existing profile"
  5. Enter a "previously registered domain" in the box provided. This is the domain profile which you are moving all domains into.
  6. If you have more than one domain within your current domain profile, you can also move ALL domains by checking the appropriate box.

Q. How can I view ALL my domains under my profile?
A.
View all domains associated within your profile by choosing the domain manager link "My Domains".

Q. What if I click on "My Domains" and it does not show all the domains I have registered, using the same password an username?

A.
Your can merge profiles, if you are using the same user name and password for all your domains, however, you do not see them in the domain list, you can merge all profiles into one.

  1. Enter your password
  2. List all domains (no www) in the box provided.
  3. Select "Merge Profile " icon.
  4. Once profiles are merged you will be required to log in again.
Q. I think I have more domains then what is displayed under "My Domains" - how can I check this?
A.
Click on the "forgot domain list" from the "merge domain" section. Here you can search our database.
